Some of the prominent alumni of the University of the Cumberlands include: 

• Dr David Williams: Williams is a Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He is also the Director of the Center for Environmental Health Sciences at UTHSC. 
• Dr Michael Martin: Martin is the Chief Executive Officer of Lexmark International. He has been with Lexmark since 1987 and has held a variety of positions, including President and Chief Operating Officer. 
• Dr Robert Abner: Abner is the President and CEO of Abner Technology Group, a consulting firm that specialises in helping businesses improve their information technology systems. 
• Timothy O'Brien: O'Brien is the Chief Financial Officer of Humana Inc., a health insurance company. He has been with Humana since 2002 and has held a variety of positions, including Vice President of Finance.
  
• Daryl D. Jones: Jones is the President and CEO of Appalshop, a nonprofit media arts organisation based in Whitesburg, Kentucky.
